  1. Well any blogger or any other person trying to start a new venture faces this challenge to attract readers/customers to their blog or business. Like everything else in life, there is Light and darkness, Joy and sad, like two sides to a coin. The majority of the society is, “Drawn by the just the upper layers of life ~ the colours, the glamour” that is very easy to digest. They are not aware or ignore the real values of life, the true essence of living according to Dharma/The Laws of The Universe, God or how ever each one believes in. This is not just the uneducated but even among, “Some” highly book educated people !
But you find another section who dig deep, and who are wise, appreciate and aware what life is all about. This group of people are, “Mainly silent workers towards world peace, protecting the environment, working towards less fortunate like hunger and health issues” I started writing in my Face Book page initially (2012) and there were many who were interested and following. Face Book has now changed if you are not aware. They expect the admins to pay, in order to advertise, “Posts and the page itself” hence those who do not, the posts are not circulated properly. Also there are endless pages popping up and the competition is immense. Just like you, I also expected so many liking and coming to my blog, especially when I have come out of a long term mental issue, wanting to know more. The fact is one need to, ” Go to other sites and interact. or else they are not aware of the other blogs. And what each one writes has to agree or be helpful for them to like and follow” This my experiences from my face book pages from about 6 years, and the blog is catching slowly since little over 1 years. They all take time πŸ™‚
Do not worry, there is quite a group of people, silent and not silent who know the real values of life/people, if you look carefully on those who post good quotes, talk about how life really works ~ so many motivators who encourage and inspire people. When I started writing, I showed it to my doctor, “to know what I was writing was ok ~ as it was a mental health site” The advice I got was that there will be so many reading, But I wouldn’t see it much, do it as a service but Not expect too much of a feed back. That if I help even one person to go to the doctor to know the value of counselling/medication, I should be very happy. “Words are Very Important” Although I do not go to the psychiatrist now, “Those words are continuously ringing in my ears, pushing me towards being well, Studying and doing my Blog” πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you so much for the beautiful reply. πŸ™‚ Your words are both meaningful and eyeopening, and has shown me the value to keep on writing, to keep on responding to the real. But I think you kind of missed my point. Social networks as you said, have INDEED changed. Now it’s more of a money making platform rather than a connecting platform. That is the sad story you see. What began as a truly ‘open source’ platform, just evolved right before our eyes into something utterly mutated, just for the prime reason of making millions out of the less fortunate. I realized this, and paying to stay in the competition is NOT an option for me. This is not a money making business for me, and hence, paying to get my ideas across is just not worth it. I’d rather write away, and get my feelings across, like how the safety valve of a kettle functions. Just doing the job just enough. πŸ™‚ And if WordPress deem my account and its content unsuitable someday, they are indeed free to delete all my content of course, because they do own the right to do so since I do not own my own webspace with my own domain name, and are subject to their absolute whim other than being able to type away! πŸ™‚ Lets just keep on going and expressing ourselves much like we were intended to do since the day we were born. I would love it if every user who visits my profile gets the same reaction that a lost treader feels when he/she stumbles upon something amazing by mistake – like when someone finds an oasis or a beautiful bonsai tree hidden on a barren mountain or a virgin rainforest hidden from the world. It gives me chills to feel that feeling, instead of seeing a thousand clicks on my site. πŸ™‚

  2. No I did not miss your point with respect πŸ™‚ I started Face Book when I came to Aussie few years back.I have always loved quotes and have been collecting them. I was attracted by the beautiful pictures and wanted to do them. Then I didn’t know how to even share a quote πŸ™‚
I learnt partly from my son, and gradually I learnt to write quotes on the pictures myself, and started the page Happiness Quotes in 2012. Then there was hardly any competition and likes flowed in. No “I also Do Not Pay” as I do not earn from it πŸ™‚ For me it was a gradual process. First the page, then a group, and then when I really started to write long I switched over to the Blog. Actually the Blog is better than Face Book as there is a very big group of Bloggers. Only one has to interact with them πŸ™‚ Not only like an article, but if you comment there are those who will look into yours. It is Not advertising, but it’s like give and take, and from those blogs you can find other blogs that interest you. Also I have not seen a, “Follow Button via Email” in your blog. You may be pressed for time, But gradually you learn the tricks like any other thing in life and you will build up followers. Best of Luck, and Happy Writing πŸ™‚

  3. Word press is very good. I have learnt so much since I started. But of course I pay a small amount as I like the site to be attractive, being on a journey on mental wellness I need to do make it bright and attractive, and above all, “Freedom to post pictures and do everything I like on it” This is my relaxation and outlet. I am sure you know, word press has a very good support system you can find all what you know on their site, and on their chat line πŸ™‚

    1. That’s very true. I think everybody goes through that phase where they struggle with endeavor that they start. With time when things settle down, I guess we all get what we give tenfold over! πŸ™‚ Thank you so much for your comments! You are the first person who responded to my posts, and I am immensely grateful. πŸ™‚
